Coaching is a growing and serious profession, and therefore needs to be treated as such. As most professions, a code of ethics must be established and adhered to in order to function at the highest level.
Below is my Coaching Code of Ethics:
I will be clear about my competencies and limits, and refer clients to those more qualified than myself when necessary for their growth.
I will be purposeful in my reflection of what I know, and understand and be transparent about not knowing what I don't know.
I will set clear expectations and boundaries with my clients, and maintain a balanced professional relationship both for my clients and my own self-care.
I will recognize my value as a coach and not diminish my professional self, whether that is in confidence, compensation, or any other way.
I will remain as committed to my clients as they are to their future growth.
This Coaching Code of Ethics will continue to evolve and grow with my practice, but these five will remain true in all of my interations.
